I Wish I Had A Picture Of Eliot Crowley - Part Three
It's really a small world. Almost two years ago, give or take a day, I had an e-mail from my old friend Mike Purcilly. He'd essentially dropped off the face of the earth only to resurface twenty seven years later. Okay. Everyone deserves a little privacy.
Michael, however, is the guy who introduced me to Eliot. My friend Mark Kalan, who's also a Brooks grad, claims to know both of them. Tom Kelly apparently knows Eliot (and that means his wife, Gail Mooney, also knows Eliot), also from Brooks Institute. I don't really know if Kalan knows Tom Kelly & Gail Mooney, but that's another matter entirely and, to tell you the truth, I don't much care. Of course, as we learned here just nine months ago, Mark Harmel also knows Eliot.
Let's recap: Mike Purcilly is a recluse, Mark Kalan lives in New York, Tom Kelly & Gail Mooney are in picturesque Brookside, NJ and... hey... Mark Harmel is in Los Angeles (I knew that!) and probably needless to say, no visit to California would be complete without seeing Mark Harmel. Well, as long as I was flying out to photograph Eliot, I thought I'd photograph Mark as well. I did so over a breakfast of Nuclear Pancakes at the Fig Tree Cafe on Venice Beach
Just to round it out, and this is the last time I'll even mention California for a while, but before I quit, here's a picture of the house I stayed in with my Malibu friends, who will remain nameless for fear of invading their privacy (and I've done enough of that already today).
